Notice regarding suspicious messages
- To our guests staying Yufuin Yawaragi-no-sato YADOYA no Sato Yadoya
Thank you for your continued patronage of Yufuin Yawaragi-no-sato YADOYA no Sato Yadoya.
We have recently received a report from Temairazu Co., Ltd., the provider of the reservation control system (a system that centrally manages multiple accommodation reservation sites) that our hotel uses, that unauthorized access by a third party has been confirmed to their system.
Furthermore, an investigation by Temairazu Co., Ltd. has confirmed that it cannot be ruled out that some of the guest information may have been viewed or obtained by a third party.
●Regarding the events that are occurring
We have confirmed instances of suspicious messages being sent via messaging apps such as WhatsApp from overseas sender numbers (+351, etc.) to reservations made by Monday, September 21, 2026, for stays on or after Monday, September 21, 2026.
The message may contain reservation information such as the customer's name and check-in date, and may include wording that prompts the user to enter their credit card information, making it appear as if it is a notice from the hotel.
Some users are receiving messages that try to rush them into action, such as "Your reservation will be canceled if you do not enter your credit card information."
This facility uses either Official email address or the messaging function of the accommodation booking website as means of contacting guests.
We will not use messaging apps such as WhatsApp to contact you regarding reservation confirmations, payments, or cancellations.
If you receive a suspicious message, please pay close attention to the following points.
・Do not reply to suspicious messages.
・Do not open URLs or links in the message.
・Do not enter credit card information or personal information.
・Do not follow the instructions in the message to make a payment or transfer money.
・To check your reservation details, please contact the customer support of the accommodation booking website.
If you have entered your credit card information or made a payment/transfer, please contact your credit card company immediately.
●Regarding future actions
Temairazu Co., Ltd. has already identified the cause of the unauthorized access and has reported that they have completed countermeasures for the area that was the source of the unauthorized access.
We have also received reports that they are proceeding with reporting the matter to the police, requesting an investigation from an external expert organization, and reporting to the Personal Information Protection Commission.

We have recently received a report from "TEMAIRAZU Co., Ltd.," the provider of the reservation management system (a system that centrally manages multiple online booking platforms) used by our hotel, stating that unauthorized access to their system by a third party has been confirmed.
Furthermore, an investigation by TEMAIRAZU Co., Ltd. has confirmed that it cannot be ruled out that some guest information may have been viewed or obtained by a third party.
● Details of the Incident
We have confirmed that suspicious messages are being sent to our guests via messaging apps such as WhatsApp, primarily from Indian phone numbers (e.g., +351), regarding reservations made by September 21, 2026, with stay dates on or after September 21, 2026.
This issue has been occurring at hotels throughout Japan that have implemented systems from TEMAIRAZU Co., Ltd.
These messages may include reservation details such as your name and check-in date, and in some cases, they contain text that appears to be a notification from our hotel, prompting you to enter your credit card information.
Some messages appear to be designed to create a sense of urgency, such as stating, “Your reservation will be canceled if you do not enter your credit card information.”
We use our official email address or the messaging feature on the booking website to contact our guests.
We never use messaging apps such as WhatsApp to send notifications regarding reservation confirmations, payments, or reservation cancellations.
- If you receive a suspicious message, please take the following precautions:
・Do not reply to suspicious messages.
・Do not open any URLs or links contained in the message.
・Do not enter your credit card information or personal information.
・Do not make any payments or money transfers based on the instructions in the message.
・If you need to confirm your reservation details, please contact the customer support of the online booking site.
In the unlikely event that you have entered your credit card information or made a payment or money transfer, please contact your credit card company immediately.
● Future Measures
We have been informed that TEMAIRAZU Co., Ltd. has already identified the cause of the unauthorized access and has completed implementing countermeasures for the specific area that led to this incident.
We have also been informed that they are proceeding with reporting the incident to the police, requesting an investigation by an external specialized agency, and reporting it to the Personal Information Protection Commission.
We sincerely apologize for any concern and inconvenience this may have caused our guests.
